HURRICANE SEASON IS OFFICIALLY HERE
JUNE 1 – NOVEMBER 30
We do not have emergency fuel powered generators. Battery powered emergency exit hall and stairwell lights are only on for a few hours. Once battery power is lost, there is no elevator or hall lights.
We encourage you to start the preparation process. Listen to weather news and updates on TV and Radio, as tropical storms and hurricanes can develop quickly. Keep your car filled with gas. Have sufficient cash on hand. Have prescriptions current and enough medication on hand for at least 2 weeks after a storm.
PREPAREDNESS – HAVE A PLAN START TO CHECK YOUR SUPPLIES
1. Create an emergency kit with essential supplies
2. Establish a communication plan with your family and stay informed about evacuation routes.
3. In case of evacuation, take your animals with you.
4. Review and make sure your homeowner’s insurance is current. If you are a renter, we encourage you to get renter’s insurance.
5. Remove everything from your balcony. Secure your unit while you go out of town, even for a few days.
6. Make sure your hurricane shutters work. Lubricate the tracks for ease of movement.
7. The Association’s Insurance does not cover the inside of your unit. Any water damage caused to your personal property is not covered by us.
POWER OUTAGES
If the Power is out, the car gates will be opened for access to the property. A wedge will be placed to prop open the entry door to the building. When power returns the wedges will be removed.
HURRICANE WARNINGS
1. Remove everything from your balcony: If anything flies off your balcony, you are liable for any damage to property or injury to any person.
2. You are responsible for damage if you leave a car in the parking lot. Several city parking lots nearby allow free parking.
3. Turn off electrical breakers, except refrigerator; unplug TVs, computers, etc.
4. Leave the bathtub full of water. Wash the tub with bleach before filling the tub because there may not be any water available for a period of time.
5. Make advance preparations to stay in a non-evacuation zone.
6. Take proof of residency to re-enter the premises.
7. Close and lock hurricane shutters on all windows and doors. Close all curtains.
8. Keep your refrigerator door closed to conserve the cold. Lower the temperature. Put items in the freezer. Freeze water in plastic containers.
9. Have a sufficient supply of bottled water, canned foods, manual can opener, etc.
10.Fill your car with gas should you need to evacuate.
11.Have cash on hand (small denominations).
12.Place towels around sliding glass doors and windows to protect from water penetration.
13.Do not put tape on the windows.
14.Use battery operated candles.
15.Should you decide to evacuate, DO NOT DELAY. Traffic will be heavy.
16. Once storm starts, do not use the trash chute.
17. Stay away from windows and doors.
1. Check for damage. Take photographs for insurance.
2. Make sure the drinking water is ok. If contaminated, boil before drinking or cooking.
3. If the water supply is off: Use bottled water and water you left in the bathtub for washing and flushing.
Have a safe hurricane season.

By 2030 half of all newly manufactured cars are expeced to be electric vehicles (EV). The Blink EV Chargers are live and functioning at Harbour Hill. The private charging stations can accommodate charging in the designated charging spaces in the front parking lot.

Additional Information on EV Charging
Members requiring EV Charging can request a Blink RFID Card from Jon Stemples, jstemple@bellsouth.net. Once setup, you only need to hold your Blink RFID member card to the RFID reader on the charger and follow the on-screen instructions. If you want to track charging, be notified when your vehicle is charged or manage your account information, there’s an app for that. The Blink Charging Mobile App is available from the App Store or Google Play.
